Hi, I'm Jon.
I want this role, and I'd rather show you than tell you. So I built the thing I'd build in my first month on the job.
Here's what I believe: every organisation is about to become an agentic one. The ones that come out ahead will be the ones whose leadership steered that shift on purpose. Steering it well is a critical part of the role, one that makes everyone's work easier and more augmented, ours included.
That's the MVP I made for BSC. I call it BSC Brain.
The simplest way to put it: it's an intelligence layer for the whole institute. Anyone, on any team, can ask it about their work and get a real, cited answer. And precisely because everyone uses it, leadership gets something you almost never have: a live read on what the entire organisation is actually asking, where it's stuck, and what it needs, at a granularity and a lead time that let you act before a problem becomes one. From there, you build custom things on top of it.
Everything it tells you is sourced, and it only shows you what you're cleared to see, so you can trust it and check where it came from. It runs today on BSC's real public footprint, the GitHub, the Horizon Europe projects, with a clearly-labelled synthetic slice standing in for the internal data I can't see yet. It's an early version, built to grow, and the whole point is that we keep iterating it.
Give it ten minutes and you'll get a good feel for how I'd approach the role itself. That's the whole reason I'm sending it.
The rest of this page is who I am and what else I've built. If you only open one thing, make it the Brain.
